Daffodils

The Narcissus whose common name is Daffodils. Daffodils have a large number of varieties. Usually the tiny flowers of daffodils have a pale yellow color.

The wild species of daffodils have only six leaves around locular ovaries which usually grow as triplets. Daffodils grow from a bulb which has alkaloid poison named lycorine.  The name Daffodils is derived from an earlier “Affodell”, a variant of Asphodel.
